Amanpulo Palawan Resort
Amanpulo means “peaceful island") is set on a secluded, private island. Pamalican is part of the Quiniluban group, which makes up the northern half of the Cuyo Islands and is one of nearly 1,800 islands in Palawan, the largest province in the Philippines. A low-lying coral island, Pamalican is rimmed by seven square kilometres of pristine reef.
Amanpulo was created for travelers seeking the idyllic beauty of an exclusive tropical island. Situated on the private island of Pamalican, 200 km east of Palawan in the Philippines, the 220 acre isle is surrounded by white sand, crystal clear sea and well preserved coral reefs (50-300 m. offshore). Guests arrive from Manila by chartered plane which lands directly on Pamalican.
An idyllic, tropical haven for the beach lover, Amanpulo is set on its own private island surrounded by white-sand beaches, turquoise waters and a coral reef. The surrounding waters yield a wide variety of marine life and dive sites. The average temperature is 26 deg. C with underwater visibility ranging between 15-30 m., superb for all water activities: swimming, sailing (hobiecats, lasers and windsurfers), rowing, fishing, boat trips, snorkeling and scuba diving, ranging to introductory to advanced, are also available (some with certification).
The island’s weather is tropical, with a dry season from November to May and scattered rain showers from June to October. The mean annual temperature is 27.2-C (81-F). January is the coolest month, with an average temperature of 25.5-C (78-F) and May the hottest at 29-C (84-F).
Getting to Amanpulo Palawan
Amanpulo is accessed by scheduled charter flight from Manila, which has flights to several major international destinations. Guests are met at Manila’s international airport and taken by complimentary transfer to the Amanpulo lounge, adjacent to the departure point. Transfers and flight vouchers are all arranged by Amanpulo staff. Guests fly directly to Pamalican Island in a 19-seat, twin-engine turboprop, landing at the resort’s private airstrip. The cost of the roundtrip air transfer, Manila-Amanpulo-Manila, is US$300 per adult. The fare for children under seven is 50 percent of the adult fare, while children under two years are charged ten percent. Baggage is limited to 20kg per adult, including carry-on luggage.
