Philippines Palawan's fishing grounds are among the richest in the Philippines.
It is the source of more than 37% of commercial fish output in the country.Estimated area for inland fishing is 40,126 hectares.
Likewise some 637 hectares are suited for mussel, oyster and seaweed.
Of the 1,169 hectares of existing and developed fishponds (brackish
and freshwater), only 288 hectares are productive. A total of 27,943
hectares are identified for fishpond development.
